Coming Up With Blog Ideas is Easier Than You Think

Most people have an aversion to blogging for 2 main reasons:

  1. They think they can’t write or don’t have time.
  2. They have no idea what to write about.

Regarding #2, you might not believe it, but coming up with blog ideas is easier than you would ever think.

I made the commitment to start blogging more back in September. It’s a critical part of my business growth strategy in 2014, so I wanted to give myself time to adjust to the idea.

Once the commitment was made, my mindset started to change. As I go through my day now, I’m paying closer attention to my interaction with prospects and customers. I’m constantly evaluating their questions, their objections, what their issues are, and what makes a highly qualified potential customer. I’m always asking myself:

What do I wish my prospects knew about?

It’s really quite that simple. Prospects have to be in a certain mental place in order to make a decision about working with your company. If they don’t know they have a problem or don’t have ideas about how to solve their problem, they won’t understand how your solution can benefit them.

Think about your last conversation with a brand new prospect. What information could help them better understand their problem, options, and projected outcomes?

For example, a major component of my service is helping my clients use blog articles to engage their target audience. If my prospects don’t understand the value of blogging or are hesitant to change their culture to incorporate this kind of marketing, it’s going to make it very hard for me to sell.

So hence, this article! If my prospects begin to understand that they have a plethora of information in their head that could help move prospects through the sales process faster, they might start thinking about developing their own blogging program. Which is where I come in to help with my blogging services!

The bottom line is that once you make a commitment to start blogging, your mind will start paying closer attention to potential blog topics. You’ll automatically start thinking of new ideas all the time. All you need to do is write those blog ideas down for safe keeping and then expand on them when it’s time to create an article.
